Professional vacuum gutter cleaning to prevent water damage, damp, and overflow. Keep your drainage system working properly.
Blocked gutters are one of those problems that sneak up on you. Everything seems fine until heavy rain hits and water starts pouring down your walls instead of through the downpipes. By then, you've often got damp patches inside, staining on the exterior, and potentially serious water damage developing behind the scenes.
We clear gutters across Dublin every week using professional vacuum cleaning systems—from terraced houses in the city centre to detached properties in the suburbs. The amount of debris that accumulates is always surprising. We often combine gutter cleaning with fascia and soffit cleaning and window cleaning services for complete roofline maintenance.
It doesn't take much to cause a blockage, and once water can't flow freely, problems start fast.
Autumn is the worst time for gutters. Falling leaves fill them up quickly, especially if you've got trees nearby. But gutters don't just block in autumn—moss from the roof washes down and settles in the channels. Birds nest in downpipes. Wind blows in dirt and debris. Over time, it all compacts into a solid mass that stops water flowing.
The problem is worse if your gutters are old or poorly maintained. Sagging sections create low spots where debris collects. Joints that aren't sealed properly let water leak out before it reaches the downpipe. Downpipes themselves can block at the bends, causing water to back up and overflow at the gutter level.

Ignoring blocked gutters leads to expensive problems. Water overflowing onto walls causes damp penetration, which damages plaster, wallpaper, and paintwork. In winter, that trapped water freezes and expands, cracking render and mortar. Fascia boards rot when constantly soaked. The weight of debris-filled gutters pulls brackets loose and causes sagging.
Ground-level problems develop too. Water pouring off the roof in the wrong place saturates the ground around foundations. This can lead to subsidence issues in extreme cases, or at minimum, creates damp problems in basements and ground-floor rooms. It's also a breeding ground for mosquitoes in summer—standing water in blocked gutters is perfect for them.
Most Dublin homes need gutters cleaned once or twice a year. If you've got overhanging trees, you'll need it more often—possibly three or four times annually. Properties without nearby trees can sometimes go longer, but annual cleaning is still recommended to prevent build-up and catch any maintenance issues early.
Our gutter cleaning prices are based on property size and gutter length. All prices include full vacuum clearance of gutters and downpipes, and debris removal.
While we're clearing your gutters, we'll spot any problems that need attention. Loose brackets, cracked sections, leaking joints—these are common issues that only get worse if ignored. We don't do gutter repairs ourselves, but we can point out what needs fixing and recommend reliable contractors if you need them.
Some customers ask about gutter guards—mesh or brush systems that sit in the gutter to keep debris out. They work to an extent but aren't foolproof. Fine debris still gets through, and the guards themselves need cleaning eventually. They're worth considering if you've got a lot of trees, but they're not a magic solution that eliminates maintenance entirely. For properties with persistent gutter problems, we also recommend our roof cleaning service to remove moss and debris at the source.
Most residential gutter cleans take 1–2 hours depending on property size and how blocked they are. We bring our own professional vacuum equipment, and we take all debris away with us. You don't need to be home—as long as we can access the gutters, we can get on with the job.
Pricing is usually based on property size and gutter length. A typical three-bed semi in Dublin costs less than a large detached house with complex rooflines. We can give you an accurate quote over the phone if you tell us your property type and approximate gutter length. Many customers combine gutter cleaning with driveway cleaning or patio restoration for better value.
